What is VAT and how does Kuvra calculate it?
VAT (Value Added Tax) is a 7.5% tax on goods and services in Nigeria. Kuvra automatically calculates VAT on your invoices and tracks your VAT liability. You can remit VAT monthly or quarterly depending on your business status. Kuvra sends you reminders for all VAT deadlines.
What is WHT (Withholding Tax)?
WHT is a tax withheld at source by the buyer and remitted to the government. Common WHT rates in Nigeria are 5% for individuals and 10% for government agencies. Kuvra automatically calculates and tracks WHT deductions on your invoices, helping you manage your WHT liability.
Can I track expenses by scanning receipts?
Yes! Our receipt scanning feature uses AI to extract key information from photos of receipts. It captures the amount, date, merchant name, and VAT information. You can then categorize the expense for proper tax deduction tracking. One receipt photo typically takes 2-3 seconds to scan.
How do I export reports for my accountant?
Kuvra allows you to export all financial reports as PDF or Excel. Go to Reports → select the report type → click "Export". You can export profit & loss, balance sheets, trial balance, and tax summaries. Reports can be emailed directly to your accountant.
Is my data secure on Kuvra?
Yes. We use 256-bit AES encryption for all data at rest and in transit. Data is backed up daily to secure servers. We're ISO 27001 certified and comply with Nigerian data protection regulations. You can enable two-factor authentication for extra security.
Can multiple people access my business account?
Yes. You can invite team members and assign roles: Admin (full access), Manager (can create invoices and expenses), or Viewer (read-only access). Each team member logs in with their own account. You control what each person can see and do.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers, card payments, and mobile money through Flutterwave and Paystack. You can set up automatic monthly billing or pay annually. We also offer quarterly payment options for enterprise customers.
Can I use Kuvra for multiple businesses?
Yes! You can create a separate workspace for each business. Each workspace has its own invoices, expenses, and financial reports. You can switch between workspaces easily in the dashboard.
How do I get support?
We offer 24/5 email support and chat support during business hours. Professional and Enterprise plans get priority support. For urgent issues, you can call our support team during business hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm WAT).
What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
We'll send you a notification when you're approaching your limits. You can upgrade anytime without losing data. There are no overage charges - simply upgrade to get higher limits immediately.
